CROP TOP IS BACK

Stepping out in a fun, playful look, Anne Hathaway attends a screening of her new animated film Rio on January 28 in Los Angeles at 20th Century Fox Studio's Zanuck Theatre. Anne put her whimsical look together beginning with a striped Marni cropped sweater (check out Ella Moss' Nikita Sparkle Sweater in Black) with a pair of wide leg spotted pants with ruffles draping down the side seams (tone it down with Rich & Skinny's Silk Cargo Pant in Black). Anne stood tall in brown and tan stacked Casadei wedges (opt for Farylrobin's Iris Platform Wedge in Bronze), completing the look with a gold statement necklace (try Robyn Rhodes' Rita Necklace in Gold). There's a lot going on here, but I think for a youthful occasion, this is definitely a look to play with and I'm glad she at least tried it. What are your thoughts? I'd love the rip off the ruffles on the sides of the pants, they're only making her look wider. I do like the contrasting prints and the mix of brown and black together – nicely done, but do you think it works? It's definitely been quite a week for taking fashion risks – between this and Olivia Wilde's jewel toned harem look in Paris, who do you think is pulling off these high end looks better?
