Justin Timberlake and actress Jessica Biel broke up several months ago, but the singer revealed in a recent article that she remains "the most significant person" in his life.
"She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life," Timberlake told Vanity Fair for their July issue. "In my 30 years, she is the most special person... I don't want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me - for instance, her."
Timberlake did say that though he wouldn't have considered starting a family six months ago, "now, it feels like a closer planet orbiting around." He also talked about the challenges in finding a partner.
"I think the mistake is that people commit to who that person is right then and not the person they're going to become," Timberlake continued. "That's the art of staying together, is changing together... When you say it like that, it seems damn near impossible, right?"
In March, Timberlake, 30, and Biel, 29, called it quits after four years of dating.
Timberlake rose to fame as a member of the boy band N'Sync before launching his solo career and has taken home six Grammy Awards and two Emmy Awards. His first two albums each sold over 7 million copies. He has made headlines for his high-profile relationships with Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, as well as Biel. Timberlake told Vanity Fair that it's easier to date other celebrities who "know what it's like."
"Why do you think we wind up dating each other, and feeling more comfortable around each other?" Timberlake asked. "We understand what it's like. 'Oh, thank God - finally, somebody who knows how I feel.' It's refuge."
Timberlake also said that he hasn't talked to Spears in "nine or 10 years." The two met on the set of "The All-New Mickey Mouse Club" and dated for nearly 11 years, finally breaking up in 2002.
He will next appear on screen with his once-girlfriend of four years, Cameron Diaz, in the movie "Bad Teacher," which comes out on June 24.
Timberlake also stars opposite Mila Kunis in "Friends With Benefits," which is set for release on July 22. In the film, Timberlake appears mostly naked in a few scenes but insists he won't be making nudity a habit.
"I can't say I'm going to be butt-naked in a movie again," Timberlake said. "I only did it because I'm young now, and everything's where it's supposed to be. I figured this is the time, before gravity gets the best of me."
In April, Timberlake was romantically linked to "House M.D." actress Olivia Wilde. The actress adressed the rumors on her Twitter account.
"Cool it, honeybadgers. We are just friends and have been for years," Wilde wrote on her Twitter page in April.
Wilde and Timberlake are currently filming the sci-fi movie "Now," which tells of a futuristic society where people cannot age and can only remain alive as long as they pay for it, which helps control overpopulation. They also co-starred in the 2006 film, "Alpha Dog."
