Jessica Simpson finally confirmed recent pregnancy reports on Monday, October 31, saying on her website: "It's True! I am going to be a mummy!"The page crashed seconds after the 31-year-old Tweeted a link to her announcement, which contains a photo of her dressed as a mummy and holding her hands over what appears to be a large baby bump. Simpson's spokesperson confirmed to OnTheRedCarpet.com that the pop star is pregnant.
Her announcement was made on the same day Simpson, known for her fashion collections that have raked in more than $1 billion in sales, unveiled her new skin care line, BeautyMint.
Simpson has looked pregnant in recent celebrity photos and reports that she is expecting a baby have graced the covers of tabloids and made online headlines for weeks. Simpson, who is engaged to football player Eric Johnson, has kept silent about the reports until now.
The two began dating in May 2010 and announced the following November, after he finalized his divorce from his first wife, that they are engaged. No wedding date has been announced.
This will also be the second marriage for Simpson. She and her first husband, Nick Lachey, on the MTV reality show "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica", which documented their married life together. The two divorced in 2006. Lachey and television personality Vanessa Minnillo wed in July.
