William and Kate leave for private weekend in UK, honeymoon saved for later

Newlyweds William and Kate flew out of Buckingham Palace this morning to spend the weekend together at a private location in the UK.

The couple – whose official title is now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – will not go on honeymoon this weekend, and Prince William will be back at work on Monday.

After spending their first night as a married couple together at the Palace, Kate and William emerged hand in hand from the palace's garden entrance, and strolled to where the helicopter was waiting for them.

Kate was dressed in a light blue dress, dark jacket and platform shoes, while he had on a pale blue shirt and navy jacket - a casual look compared to yesterday’s formal affair.

They are expected to go on a two-week honeymoon to an undisclosed foreign location at a later date.

[Video: All of the highlights from the wedding day]

William has a fortnight's leave from his job as an RAF Search and Rescue helicopter pilot and has reportedly not even told his new wife where they are going.

On Friday night William and Kate and 300 close family and friends partied until the early hours at Buckingham Palace to celebrate their marriage. Guests included the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and even the Duke's uncle Earl Spencer was said to have been there for part of the event.

Kate changed for the evening dinner and dance from her stunning wedding gown by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen into another stylish dress by the same designer. The royal looked glamorous in a strapless white satin gazar evening gown with a circle skirt and diamante embroidered detail round the waist. She also wore a white angora bolero cardigan.

Likely honeymoon destinations for the newlyweds could include Africa - a continent the Duke has a deep affection for. The second in line to the throne could take his wife to countries like Botswana, or Kenya where he proposed to Kate.

There has been speculation that a secluded Caribbean island may be another option.

Queen Elizabeth at the wedding

The queen is known for her love of color, and today she wore a joyful, bright yellow Angela Kelly ensemble. The designer is a close confidant of the queen, and currently serves as curator in jewelry, insignias, and wardrobe. Elizabeth accessorized with the Queen Mary’s lover’s knot brooch.

Victoria Beckham at the royal wedding

Pop singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham was one of the many celebrities attending the royal wedding. Always stylish, Victoria wore a self-designed navy blue frock and a sculptural Philip Treacy chapeau. The notorious hat designer is also a favorite of Princess Kate's.

Pippa Middleton Wears White

Etiquette experts consider it bad form for anyone but the bride to wear white on the wedding day. Not the Middletons. Kate's sister Pippa wore a white maid of honor dress on the world's biggest stage.

[Photos: See more of Pippa's dress]

Like Kate's wedding dress, Pippa's gown was designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. The gown featured short sleeves, a low-cut neckline, and was form-fitting. Immediately following Pippa's appearance at Westminster Abbey, web searches soared.

A blog from the "Today" show explains that a white dress for non-brides isn't as rare as it used to be. Bridal designer Reem Acra told TODAY.com: "I like the idea that (Kate's) sister is wearing white... It makes the whole thing more thematic and looks clean and modern."

Tom Mora, J.Crew's vice-president for bridal wear, told TODAY.com that "there is something quite beautiful about it... there's a purity about her sister wearing white."

Pippa's dress had the same button detail and lace trim as Kate's wedding gown, according to PopSugar. In addition to looking beautiful, Pippa also did an excellent job with the young bridesmaids and took good care of her sister's train.

Below, some other buzzy moments to remember...

Kate remembers William's name
The curse is broken! Kate remembered William's full name! It might sound like a small victory, but it's far from it. William's full name is quite a mouthful. For the record, he is William Arthur Philip Louis. Imagine trying to remember that with two billion people watching.

In royal weddings past, Princess Diana and Princess Sarah Ferguson messed up when asked to recite their groom's full name. According to Dickie Arbiter, former press secretary to the queen, Diana mixed up the order of Charles's names. Diana had a pretty good excuse: Charles's full name is Charles Philip Arthur George. Same deal with Fergie; she accidentally repeated Prince Andrew's middle name.

Not so with Kate. She nailed William's full name. A good omen if ever there was one.

Kate Middleton's delicate figure
Kate Middleton caught the experts' eyes for her dress as well as her slender physique. Barbara Walters began buzzing after she saw Middleton exit. "She's very slim. Look at that waist!"

James Middleton: expert reader

Kate Middleton's brother, James, gave a reading at the royal wedding, and though he would have had every excuse to be nervous or fumble over a phrase, the 24-year-old nailed the passages from Romans 12:1,2, 9-18. Pausing at the right times, never mispronouncing a word, and never losing his place, James was perfect with his high-profile task.

Michael Middleton's butter fingers

The father of the bride did a wonderful job of walking with his beautiful daughter down the aisle and standing at attention at the front of the church. He did make one small mistake, though. Right when he arrived at Westminster Abbey, he dropped his hat. Oops. It was all aces from there. No harm, no foul.

Prince William & Kate Balcony Kisses Complete Wedding

If you looked away from the screen for a moment, you probably missed it. It was a quick smooch. Kate turned to her groom, said something with a smile, and the prince reached over, rather hurriedly, and gave her a very quick kiss.

Maybe that's why he kissed her again.

The second kiss came just before the Royal Air Force flyover. Another first on a historic day: two kisses on the Buckingham Palace balcony by a newly married royal couple.

Photos: Images from the Royal Wedding Ceremony

All eyes were on Prince William and Kate as they emerged from the palace onto the balcony. Many among the boisterous gathered crowd and those watching around the world surely had one defining image in their minds: Princess Diana and Prince Charles' memorable wedding kiss.
It wasn't traditional for royal couples to kiss in public following their weddings before the summer of 1981. And Prince Charles reportedly resisted breaking tradition when the crowds outside Buckingham Palace that historic July morning called out for them to kiss.

"I am not going to do that caper. They are trying to get us to kiss," he said to Diana.

Diana's reported response: "Well, how about it?" The prince hesitated, then said "Why ever not?"

And this image lives on as proof.

Sadly, the marriage did not live up to the sweetness of that first public kiss. And because of that, there is a lifetime of hope wrapped up in today's royal smooch. The world wishes so much better for this young couple. They have come to marriage older, wiser, and by all accounts, truly in love.

The grand balcony has been the stage for vaulted royal appearances since 1851, when Queen Victoria stepped out onto it during celebrations for the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park, London. The Great Exhibition was the first in a series of World's Fair displays of culture and industry and attended by the likes of Charles Darwin and Charlotte Bront.

Princess Anne was the first of Queen Elizabeth's newly wed children to appear on the balcony with her new spouse, Captain Mark Phillips, in 1973. But they did not kiss.

Neither did Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex on their 1999 wedding day, though Prince Andrew did follow his elder brother's lead when he kissed the Duchess of York on the balcony on their wedding day in 1986.

A new iconic royal kiss image is born. Long live the marriage.

Kate Middleton wedding dress a success

The rumors were true: Catherine Middleton's dress was designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.

The veil is long, sheer, and modern. It showcases her hair, which she is wearing down. The veil is made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers, which was embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

The veil is held in place by a Cartier 'halo' tiara, lent to Middleton by the Queen. It's a simple but very elegant look. She is wearing a train that measures over six feet. The sleeves are long and lace. The front is cut in a low V.

According to the press release, Middleton wished for her dress to "combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen's work. Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress."

The sweeping train measures just over six feet. According to the official royal wedding website, the dress is made with "ivory and white satin gazar. The skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and is a hallmark of Alexander McQueen's designs. "

Middleton was successful at keeping not only the look of the dress top secret, but the identity of the designer as well. Quite an accomplishment, considering every detail of the wedding was closely followed by a global media circus.

The princess bride wasn't keeping dress details just from the public; she was keeping them from her husband-to-be. Prince William finally saw the gown after many of the wedding watchers. Kate went to great lengths to make sure he did not catch a glimpse of it until she met him at the altar.

Some pre-wedding rumors suggested that Kate was playing bridal dress roulette, commissioning three dresses for the day, with two backups in case the number-one dress was leaked to the press. Other reports suggested she'd created the gown herself.

[Photo gallery: Notable guests arriving at the royal wedding]

The mystery around the designer became a source of everything from a guessing game for fashionistas to a professional betting business for British bookies.

Bruce Oldfield was a front-runner. He designed clothing for Princess Di and created the wedding gown for Queen Rania of Jordan.

Sarah Burton was named as a fashion favorite to produce the dress. She is the creative director of the Alexander McQueen label, taking over after the designer committed suicide last year.

And who can forget the blue wrap dress made famous when Kate wore it to announce her engagement? That designer, Daniella Helayel, of the British label Issa, had also been recently suggested as the name behind the royal wedding dress.

Other possible British designers included Erdem, Alice Temperley and Jasper Conran.

Relative unknown Sophie Cranston, whose label Libelula was rumored as the wedding dress designer, is responsible for the sheer black top and velvet coat that made scandalous headlines when Middleton wore the design.

Back in 1981, Princess Diana's dress was a surprise, but her dress designer was not. After Diana asked if the dressmakers David and Elizabeth Emanuel would design her wedding gown, the choice was made public.

The moment Diana appeared in the fairy-tale wedding dress, with a 25-foot train, enormous puffed sleeves, and 10,000 pearls and sequins, it was immediately knocked off. Expect no less with Kate Middleton's dress.

Five things to watch for at the royal wedding

You've survived the hype, and now the big day is almost here. The wedding is, of course, all about Kate Middleton and Prince William. But any self-respecting royal-watcher knows that there are a slew of subplots to be followed on April 29. Here, the top five things to look out for on the big day.

[Save this page: Watch the royal wedding live on Yahoo!]

The dress: This is a biggie. Whoever is in charge of keeping the dress a secret deserves a raise. Despite the best efforts of just about every tabloid on the planet, nobody knows much about Kate's gown.

That could all change at exactly 2:51 a.m. PDT/5:51 a.m. EDT (that's 10:51 a.m. BST in London) on the day of the wedding. That's when Kate is scheduled to leave her hotel and take a car to Westminster Abbey. The odds are quite favorable that someone could catch a glimpse of the gown, though there are reports they'll sneak her out. The official reveal will be around 3 a.m. PDT/6 a.m. EDT/11 a.m. BST.

But William won't see the dress. He'll be sequestered in a backroom until the moment Kate walks down the aisle.

[Related: Kate determined to hide dress from William]

The guests: We know there will be some high-profile guests at the wedding. And while nobody will outshine Kate, rest assured that plenty of people will have their eyes on David and Victoria Beckham.

The two fashion icons are sure to turn heads no matter what they wear. Some even worry that Victoria may manage to upstage Kate (they don't call her Posh for nothing).

Other guests known for their fashion sense include Elton John, who was a close friend of Princess Diana, and Kanye West, the rapper with a very healthy self-image. Here's hoping he doesn't repeat his Taylor Swift move during the "I do's."

Guests start arriving around 8:15 a.m. in London (12:15 a.m. PDT/3:15 a.m. EDT), but best bets are the big stars will arrive on the fashionably later side around 9:50 a.m. in London (1:50 a.m. PDT/4:50 a.m. EDT).

The kiss: It might seem like a no-brainer. Two people get married, they kiss once the officiant says the magic words, and everybody cheers. But royal weddings aren't so simple.

When William and Kate say "I do," they won't lock lips. The rules of the Church of England prohibit it. But fear not, the two are expected to smooch from the balcony of Buckingham Palace following the ceremony. And it won't be just the guests who see the kiss. It'll be hundreds of millions of people watching the event on their TVs and computers.

Not a pair to leave things to chance, William and Kate have apparently been practicing for the moment. In an article from Us Weekly, an aide explains, "The angle that they come in at needs to be correct, otherwise they could block the shot and the world will miss out on that momentous moment." Give the people what they want. Expect to see the kiss at 1:25 p.m., London time (5:25 a.m. PDT/8:25 a.m. EDT).

Harry's date: We all know William's date, but what about his younger brother, Harry? Most sources seem to agree that the royal redhead will bring longtime ladyfriend Chelsy Davy.

Chelsy, a blond bombshell who has had an on-and-off-again relationship with Harry, has been recently spotted in London's Chelsea, perhaps looking for an outfit for the wedding.

It's hard to say when the camera might find her, but if she arrives with the "distinguished guests," that would put her in the spotlight around 1:50 a.m. PDT/4:50 a.m. EDT/9:50 a.m. BST.

[Related: Is Prince Harry single or not?]

The moment of matrimony: In a day full of moments, there will be one that will stand above all others. When Kate and William say "I do." Believe it or not, this moment isn't as simple as it looks. At least according to times past.

Both Princess Diana and Princess Sarah Ferguson flubbed their groom's names when the time came. According to Dickie Arbiter, former press secretary to the queen, Diana mixed up the order of Charles's names. Diana had a pretty good excuse. Charles's full name is Charles Philip Arthur George. Same deal with Fergie. She accidentally repeated Prince Andrew's middle name.

There is a chance Kate might have the same problem. William has quite a handle himself: William Arthur Philip Louis. Check her accuracy at 3 a.m. PDT/6 a.m. EDT/11 a.m. BST.

Prince William to wear famous British army redcoat

LONDON (AFP) – Prince William has made a surprise choice of a military uniform for his wedding on Friday, opting for the world-famous scarlet colours of the British army.

As a search and rescue helicopter pilot in the Royal Air Force, most had predicted William would wear his plain, blue RAF flight lieutenant's uniform for his marriage to Kate Middleton at London's Westminster Abbey.

However, the prince is also the honorary colonel of the Irish Guards infantry regiment and has chosen to wear their red tunic, his highest-ranking uniform.

His choice will likely be seen as a nod of recognition to those Irish Guards serving in Afghanistan.

The regiment deployed in October 2010 for a six-month tour of duty and has lost three soldiers on the current operation.

Their scarlet uniforms will be familiar to anyone who has seen the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.

However, the prince will not wear a bearskin hat -- instead he will wear a peaked cap known as a forage cap. He will also be without a sword.

"It's a personal preference what he chooses to wear but the main reason is it's his senior honorary appointment in the army," a spokesman for his St James's Palace household told AFP.

"It is the highest-ranking uniform that he has at his disposal."

Queen Elizabeth II made her grandson the colonel of the Irish Guards in February. It is William's only honorary appointment in the army.

Though not as feverishly anticipated as Middleton's dress, the prince's uniform is nonetheless a surprise.

Some bookmakers had stopped taking bets on William wearing his RAF colours, with the odds reaching 20-1 on.

The last British royal wedding to feature a groom marrying in red was that of William's aunt Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips at Westminster Abbey in 1973.

William's Irish Guards uniform will be topped off with a gold and crimson sash and gold sword slings.

The insignia on the forage cap features the regiment's Latin motto "Quis Separabit? (Who shall separate us?)".

William will also wear his Garter sash and star, RAF "wings", and the Golden Jubilee medal.

Based at the Victoria Barracks in Windsor, west of London, the Irish Guards recruit in Northern Ireland, as well as cities with large Irish populations such as Liverpool, London and Manchester.

Prince Harry, William's younger brother and best man, is a newly promoted captain in the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals regiment and will wear the uniform of his new rank.

Their father Prince Charles will wear his Royal Navy admiral's uniform, complete with a sword.

Britain withdraws Syria’s wedding invite

Britain on Thursday withdrew the Syrian ambassador's invitation on the eve of the royal wedding, while it emerged that Kate Middleton will not promise to obey Prince William in her marriage vows.

Seeking to end a diplomatic spat that was fast becoming a headache for organisers, Foreign Secretary William Hague said it was "unacceptable" for the envoy to attend because of Syria's crackdown on pro-democracy protesters.

"In the light of this week's attacks against civilians by the Syrian security forces, which we have condemned, the Foreign Secretary has decided that the presence of the Syrian ambassador at the royal wedding would be unacceptable and that he should not attend," a Foreign Office statement said.

Buckingham Palace, the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William's grandmother, said it agreed with the move.

The decision that ambassador Sami Khiyami will be barred from joining dozens of envoys from countries around the world at Friday's ceremony followed criticism from rights groups.

[ List: The five most controversial royal wedding invitees ]

The Foreign Office had defended the initial invitation, saying the Syrian envoy had been invited alongside all countries with which Britain has normal diplomatic relations and which have ambassadors in London.

Bahrain's crown prince has already turned down an invitation following fears his attendance could have detracted from the event because of ongoing unrest in the Gulf kingdom.

It is the latest in a string of political controversies surrounding invitations to the wedding, Britain's biggest royal celebration in 30 years and a major chance for the country to strut the world stage.

Preparations reached fever pitch as Kate attended a second and final rehearsal at Westminster Abbey on Thursday morning, accompanied by William's brother and best man Prince Harry.

The Order of Service was released, showing that Kate will pledge to "love, comfort, honour and keep" William rather than the more traditional vow to "obey" him.

[ Photos: The richest royal wedding guests ]

It means the 29-year-old is following in the footsteps of William's late mother Princess Diana, who later divorced his father Prince Charles.

Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, also opted not to "obey" the Prince of Wales during their wedding ceremony in 1981.

In a message in the souvenir programme, Kate and William, the 28-year-old second-in-line to the throne, say they are deeply touched by people's reactions as they prepare for "one of the happiest days of our lives".

"We are both so delighted that you are able to join us in celebrating what we hope will be one of the happiest days of our lives," they say in the booklet which will be sold along the processional route of the wedding.

Music played at Diana's 1981 wedding to Prince Charles and her funeral in 1997 will be included in the service, the official schedule showed. It will also feature music from Charles's second marriage to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in 2005.

William has spent the days before the wedding in relaxed mood, even joining his friends for a game of football in a London park on Tuesday, newspaper photographs showed.

The prince left the match at Battersea Park on a Ducati motorbike, still wearing a tracksuit and trainers.

A tented village is growing in front of the Abbey as royal enthusiasts continue to pitch tents to get a good position to see the service.

But forecasters said it was now certain that after days of sunshine in London, Friday would be marred by rain showers and even thunder.

In Bucklebury, Kate's home village in Berkshire, organisers were erecting tents and preparing for a giant party on Friday.

Simon Kelly, 51, landlord of the Bladebone Inn pub, said: "It's going to be exciting, it's going to be happy, it's an excuse to have a good party and good fun and that's what it should be.

"We've got duck racing, Morris dancing, a champagne tent and a beer tent and it's just going to be a real good time."

Katie Holmes settles lawsuit with Star magazine

LOS ANGELES – Katie Holmes has settled her lawsuit with the publishers of Star magazine over a cover story that insinuated she was a drug addict.

The magazine published an apology to the actress Tuesday on its cover and inside, saying it "did not intend to suggest that Ms. Holmes was a drug addict or was undergoing treatment for drug addiction."

It apologized "for any misperception" and said it would be making "a substantial donation" to charity "for any harm that we may have caused."

Holmes sued American Media Inc. last month for a January magazine cover with a headline that read "Katie DRUG SHOCKER!"

Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Holmes had been seeking more than $50 million in damages.

She said Tuesday she accepted the apology.

Rob Lowe Opens Up For The First Time about Sex Tape Scandal

Actor Rob Lowe makes an appearance on "The Oprah Show" Thursday, talking for the first time about the infamous '80s sex-tape scandal that nearly ruined his career.

The "Parks and Recreation" star, who is releasing his memoir, "Stories I Only Tell My Friends" this week, also discusses being part of the notorious Brat Pack, overcoming addiction -- and pleading with pal Charlie Sheen to seek help.

Lowe tells Oprah, "I'm like, 'Dude, we have a chair for you. We're ready for you over here in the anonymous group that we all go to and saved my life.' He doesn't want anything to do with it."

Tune in to "The Oprah Show" on Thursday for Lowe's exclusive interview!

Meet William and Kate’s matchmaker

LONDON – Sam Waley-Cohen should allow himself a smug smile at Friday's royal wedding, content that he did more than anyone to ensure the event watched by the world takes place.

Huge teams of workers and planners are laboring around the clock to make sure the big day goes off without a hitch, but if it was not for Waley-Cohen, a 28-year-old horse racing jockey, the marriage wouldn't be happening at all.

Waley-Cohen turned royal matchmaker in 2007 when, after Prince William and Kate Middleton had been split up for several months, he invited both of them to a party he organized at his wealthy family's 400-year-old mansion in Oxfordshire.

At the time it appeared as though the break-up would be permanent. However, William and Kate, who had scarcely seen each other since their split, spent hours locked in conversation and rekindled all of their old feelings.

[ Photos: Kate's see-through dress that started it all ]

Weeks later they were photographed together on a yacht sharing a trip to the Seychelles and it soon emerged that the romance was very much back on.

Waley-Cohen downplayed his role in the royal reconciliation to Yahoo!.

"I don't know for sure if I had anything to do with it," he said with a smile at a recent horse racing event. "They have both been friends of mine for a long time and they make a fantastic couple ... Wherever it happened, I like to think they got back together of their own accord and we are all delighted that they did."

However, a royal source told Yahoo! on Monday that Waley-Cohen's party was a "significant moment" in the couple's relationship. "It set the foundation for the reunion, most certainly," the source said.

While the original split caused much heartache for both William and Kate, they now agree that it was the correct decision and one which helped them gain perspective.

"I wasn't particularly happy about it," said Kate during the pair's engagement interview. "But it made me stronger as a person, and it was a chance to learn some things about myself. It was a chance to center myself."

[ Related: Lady Diana's personal astrologer concerned for Will and Kate ]

"We picked ourselves up and we got things back together and we moved on," added William.

Unsurprisingly, given his status as both friend and matchmaker, Waley-Cohen was saved a prime spot at Westminster Abbey for Friday's wedding ceremony.

It will be another highlight in a remarkable year for the jockey, who secured an upset victory in the King George VI Stakes, one of Britain's most prestigious races, in January.

Flavor Flav vs. The Manager of Flav's Fried Chicken

Players: Flavor Flav: Public Enemy rapper and owner of Flav's Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa; Flav's Fried Chicken Manager Nick Cimino.

Opening Serve: While visiting the Iowa restaurant earlier this month, Flav discovered several managing deficiencies including reports from employees of bouncing paychecks and vats of expired food. Flav told TMZ, "Let me be straight up with you, I went up inside there on April 2 and I found potato salad that expired on February 28. And it's then when I realized I can't do business with this man and I really hope no one ate those potatoes."

Return Volley: Cimino insists the employees' failed paychecks were the result of a "credit card glitch," and that "the restuarant was his idea," the Guardian reports. Cimino told Iowa television news network WQAD, "[He] wants to become a millionaire off my dime, off my ideas. I started this. I put together everything from the menu to the colour of the building to the sign."

What They Say the Fight's About: Flav doesn't want his name attached to a mismanaged restaurant. Cimino resents the rapper's decision to close the business that, he says, was his brainchild.

What the Fight's Really About: The typical challenges faced by a business owner and the manager hired to run the place, except with added dash of a VH1-level celebrity. Unable (or unwilling) to move to Iowa and manage the restaurant himself, Flav relied on Cimino to keep things running smoothly. Cimino, on the other hand, who, according to the Guardian, "stood to collect 40 percent of profits," clearly felt a sense of ownership over Flav's Fried Chicken. He's frustrated that he not only didn't have a say in the restaurant's closing but also that Flav's celebrity status gave him all the credit for the short-lived, but entertaining business venture.

Who's Winning Now: In a spatwatch first, it seems like both parties are winning in the end. WQAD reports that Flavor Flav is already moving on with a new restaurant endeavor, Flavor Flav's House of Flavor, set to open in Las Vagas this May. Cimino is also decidedly better off. He told the local station, "I'm just glad I'm free of somebody like Flavor Flav."

Pippa Middleton Hangs Disco Balls in Buckingham Palace

We've all been to dull wedding receptions. The food stinks. The lights are too bright. A four-piece band is playing "The Girl from Ipanema," and nobody's dancing. According to the rumor mill, Kate Middleton's sister, Pippa, wants to avoid those all-too-common problems at the royal wedding reception with the help of some disco balls.

The U.K.'s Daily Mail reports that Pippa wants to hang disco balls in the throne room of Buckingham Palace for the postwedding celebration. So, what's the big whoop? Pippa, who is Kate's chief bridesmaid as well as a professional event organizer, has apparently rubbed some officials the wrong way. Her glittery plans to bring "a younger atmosphere to the royal couple's evening reception" are indeed a stark contrast to the traditions of Buckingham Palace.

Officials were said to have been none too pleased with Pippa's plan to transform the royal residence to Studio 54, but the 27-year-old won the standoff. Her victory was no doubt in large thanks to her future brother-in-law. Again according to sources, Prince William stepped up and "insisted that the couple be allowed to properly let their hair down at night."

It's not just the disco balls that will encourage a party atmosphere. On Saturday morning, Prince Harry has planned an epic "survivor's breakfast" for those who partied all through the night. According to Martin Rogers of Yahoo!, the breakfast will include "bacon sandwiches and fry-ups -- an artery-clogging concoction of eggs, sausages, and other fried treats -- traditional British hangover busters." Good thing. Because Harry plans to serve cocktails called "treasure chests" at the reception.

While Pippa can take pride in the fact that glitter balls will hang from the rafters of Buckingham Palace (we assume a first in monarchy history), she didn't win the battle over who would cater the affair. Pippa apparently wanted to hire a caterer of her own choice, but that was before Prince Charles, who is paying for the swanky affair, stepped in and asked that his favorite caterer, Mosimann's, be chosen.

An email to Clarence House seeking comment was not immediately returned.

According to RadarOnline, during a Q&A segment, an audience member asked Sheen how he and his two “goddesses” were doing. The actor replied, “Not well, because one left.”

In the words of Darth Vader,

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now, Sheen is down to monogamy for the time being, AND had to offer FREE tickets to his Fort Lauderdale show on his Twitter to get people to come…does this mean that Sheen’s time in the clouds is finally coming to an end…? How much longer could he last? Let us know what you think!

Oprah Winfrey: I can't save the soaps

Sorry, fans of "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," but Oprah Winfrey says she's not attempting to save the canceled soaps.

Though fans of both long-running serials have hoped Winfrey would keep the shows alive by airing them on her OWN network, the talk-show titan says it is time for the soaps to say goodbye.

"I understand, being a fan of 'All My Children,' growing up watching the 'Young and the Restless,' and other soaps, what it feels like to have a show that you love go off the air… I understand the loyalty, I understand the sense of disappointment," Winfrey said in a video recording.

"I appreciate that you all think I could save the soaps, but here is the bone marrow truth," she went on. "The soaps have been an institution in broadcast history and television because they have the support of the audience."

Winfrey explained that the ratings for soap operas have declined over the years and that "there just are not enough people who are at home in the daytime to watch them, and because of that they are going off the air. Believe me, if there was a dime left to be made from them on broadcast television it would still be happening."

The media mogul, whose long-running talk show will air its final episode on May 25, pointed out that everything has an expiration date.

"Because all good things come to an end, all things have their time — as do the soaps, as does the 'Oprah Winfrey Show' — I will not be taking on the responsibility of trying to revive an institution that for all intent and all purpose indicates that that time has come for it to be over," she said. "So thank you for believing that I could save them, but I really can't."

Prince William spent Easter with Kate Middleton's family

Chocolate-loving Prince William enjoyed Easter Sunday with his future in-laws, far from the pre-wedding craze that has taken over London.

William, 28, who is very close to fiancée Kate Middleton's family, didn't feel the pull of joining Queen Elizabeth and the extended royals at Windsor Castle. Instead, he opted to join the Middletons at church in Berkshire, and then had lunch at their home in Bucklebury.

The sweet-toothed prince, who has specifically asked for a favorite chocolate cake to supplement the main wedding cake on his big day, was seen being driven to the Middletons' home Sunday, as his cousins Beatrice and Eugenie joined other royals for church in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Meanwhile, William's father, Prince Charles, was in Scotland with Camilla. He is due to arrive back in London in time to spend some reflective time at St James's Palace with William on the eve of his wedding day.

Many consider William's choice to spend Easter with his wife-to-be's family a signal that he clearly doesn't feel the need to do things the conventional way. Instead of spending Christmas with the wider royal family at Sandringham, he chose to work at his base, RAF Valley, and friends have indicated that he won't always spend key holidays with his own family but join Kate family's for their celebrations.

Tyler Perry imagines a 'Madea' world at 'Madea's Big Happy Family' premiere

Tyler Perry has returned to the big screen to star, write, direct and produce "Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family" and says the world would be a "much better place" if everyone were more like Madea.

"It would be a much better place," Perry told OnTheRedCarpet.com co-host Chris Balish. "I think there would be a lot more car crashes, there would be a lot more people in jail, there would be a lot more people going through things, but everybody would be free - there'd be no stress. There'd be no stress at all - none."

"Madea's Big Happy Family" is the sixth movie where Perry, 41, portrays the mouthy matriarch and this time, Madea comes to the aid of her niece who has health problems and whose bratty kids need some discipline. Madea brings the family back together with tough love and laughter.

Perry rose to fame with his first film, "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," which came out in 2005. By 2009, Perry was named the sixth highest-paid man in Hollywood by Forbes magazine and has a strong fan base that includes Oprah Winfrey, but Perry himself isn't sure what keeps the love coming.

"I have no idea [why people keep coming back], that is an ugly woman," joked Perry. "I have no idea, but I'm glad they do and I'm glad that it uplifts and encourages... I think that's why people come, because it uplifts and encourages them and it makes them laugh."

Perry transforms into the lovable Madea for his movies, but the character seems to come from within. Oprah Winfrey once defended Perry's Madea after critics and fellow director Spike Lee accused him of perpetuating racial stereotypes.

"I think [Perry] grew up being raised by strong, black women," Winfrey said in an interview, as reported by the New York Daily News. "And so much of what he does is really in celebration of that. I think that's what Madea really is: a compilation of all those strong black women that I know and maybe you do too? And so the reason it works is because people see themselves." Perry himself admits that the character "comes out of nowhere" and seems to cause her fair share of trouble.

"I'm in character before I put the costume on, she comes out of nowhere," admit Perry, before joking, "That's the police, looking for her now in that helicopter. I just feel her all the time."

The actor/director also earned 19 NAACP Image Award nominations this year for his work in "For Colored Girls" and "Why Did I Get Married Too?" and the television show "Tyler Perry's House of Payne." Perry took home an 'Outstanding Director' Image Award for "For Colored Girls."

La Toya Jackson 'shocked' at being 'fired' from 'Celebrity Apprentice'

La Toya Jackson says she was "shocked" at being eliminated from Donald Trump's reality show "The Celebrity Apprentice," as seen on an episode that aired on Sunday, April 24.

The sister of late singer Michael Jackson was deemed a consistently weaker player throughout the course of the series, which shows celebrities putting together marketing campaigns to try and sell a product while winning money for charity.

La Toya Jackson was "fired" by Trump as she and her colleagues Star Jones and NeNe Leakes, whose outspoken demeanors marked a sharp contrast to her own, faced the real estate mogul in his boardroom.

"Most of you R as surprised & shocked as I was 4 getting fired," La Toya Jackson said on her Twitter page. "But keep N mind, I'm Joe Jackson's daughter, I was raised to NEVER give up!"

"I didn't feel that I should've been fired but I was there for charity and I raised $65,000 for Aids Project Los Angeles," she added. "That money was able to feed those in need & give them their medicine for 30 days at all 9 of their LA location, THAT MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT."

La Toya Jackson's all-female team, which also consists of Playboy model Hope Dworaczyk and actress Marlee Matlin, had failed to impress with a marketing plan they had come up with for Trump Hotels. La Toya Jackson had sparred with Leakes earlier in the season and accused Jones of dominating their team's projects. Trump questioned the women's unity.

"I don't think the team wants La Toya going forward," he said. "I think it's going to be very tough for you to win."

Trump had said prior to the start of the current fourth season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" that La Toya Jackson was "very smart, really smart and she does really well and I think she's gonna surprise a lot of people."

Trump also confirmed that this season will be a "total trainwreck." In a conference call, the mogul said that some of this season's fights that are like nothing that have been on television.

"There are some scenes on the Celebrity Apprentice coming up that I have never seen scenes like them in all of the years I've watched television," Trump told media outlets in his telephone conference call. "Not just 'The Apprentice' but I'm talking about television that I jokingly said Omarosa's looking like a very nice, very meek person by comparison."

Omarosa Manigault, known as the "villain" of the first season of "The Apprentice," recently praised Trump during an interview with OnTheRedCarpet.com. He has been hinting he may run for president in 2012.

La Toya Jackson is the fifth child of the Jackson family and starred with her siblings in the CBS variety show, "The Jacksons." La Toya also had a solo music career, wrote an autobiography and posed in Playboy magazine. She appeared on the shortlived CBS reality show, "Armed & Famous" and on the British reality series "Celebrity Big Brother."

The other celebrity contestants who remain in the running on "The Celebrity Apprentice" are Leakes, Jones, Dworaczyk, Matlin, country singer John Rich, rapper Lil Jon and rocker Meat Loaf.

Khloe Kardashian to appear on 'Law & Order: Los Angeles'

Khloe Kardashian is set to appear on an episode of "Law & Order: Los Angeles" on Monday, April 25, which tells of the deadly shooting of a celebrity stylist.

Warning! Spoiler alert.

The 26-year-old star of E! reality show "Khloe & Lamar" plays herself and finds herself interrogated by detectives Ricardo Morales (Alfred Molina) and T.J. Jaruszalski (Corey Stoll). During the episode, set to air at 10 p.m. ET, Kardashian also shows off some boxing movies.

"I'm sooooo excited but also ridiculously nervous," Kardashian wrote on her official website. "I've only done the whole acting thing once so I'm still not fully comfortable working from a script. We tape tomorrow so I'll let you all know how it goes. Law & Order is actually Lamar's favorite show - I think he's more excited than I am LOL."

The reality star's sisters have also caught the acting bug, Kim Kardashian appeared "CSI: NY" IN 2009 and Kourtney Kardashian recently guest-starred on the ABC soap opera "One Life To Live." ABC recently announced that the show, as well as "All My Children," would end in several months.

Kim and Khloe also played themselves in an episode of the CW's teen drama show "90210."

"Law & Order: LA" reached a series low last week, after returning from a hiatus with a revamped look. Last Monday's episode of the NBC show averaged 4.9 million adult viewers. It was the network's lowest-rated Monday night of the season, according to TV Line.

The original "Law & Order was cancelled in 2010, after 20 seasons on the air.

Robert De Niro compares Donald Trump to a 'car salesman'

Robert De Niro spoke out this weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York about the state of politics and in particular, Donald Trump's recent accusations about President Barack Obama, reports E! Online.

Earlier in the month, Trump told Fox News host Bill O'Reilly that he believes Obama should release his birth certificate to prove that he was born in the country. The 67-year-old actor compared the mogul to a car salesman and called the "Celebrity Apprentice" star's accusations "a lot of nonsense."

De Niro talked to NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams at the Tribeca Film Festival and became heated when talking about recent political drama.

"I know Obama was trying to bridge the [financial] gap," De Niro told Williams. "His intentions are really good. Maybe some things are not as good as we all would like, but his intentions were right. A lot of these guys, their intentions are not even good. They're just playing the game. And they're playing with people's lives."

De Niro said he "won't mention names," but Williams asked the actor if the "people" he was referring to had a show on NBC on Sunday nights and De Niro confirmed that he was talking about Trump.

"It's like a big hustle," De Niro told Williams. "It's like being a car salesman. Don't go out there and say things unless you can back them up. How dare you? That's awful to do. "

Trump already responded to De Niro's comments on "Fox & Friends" on Monday, slamming the actor's intelligence.

"Well, he's not the brightest bulb on the planet," Trump said of De Niro. "I have been watching over the years and I like his acting, but in terms of when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we are not dealing with Albert Einstein. He can say what he wants but the fact is that this guy has not revealed his birth certificate, a lot of people agree with me."

Earlier in the month, Trump stirred controversy when he offered his birthing record rather than his birth certificate after criticizing the president for taking so long to produce his birth certificate.

Trump told news outlets, including OnTheRedCarpet.com, that he would announce before June, after the end of the current fourth season of "The Celebrity Apprentice," whether or not he will run for president.

De Niro, who is best known for his roles in "Goodfellas" and "Taxi Driver," most recently starred in the Bradley Cooper movie "Limitless" and the Ben Stiller comedy "Little Fockers."

The actor is a long-time supporter of the Democratic Party, vocally supporting Al Gore, John Kerry and Obama during their respective elections.

Jerry Springer Talks Donald Trump!

JERRY Springer has discussed his fellow TV star Donald Trump, who in the course of a few weeks has become the Republican front-runner to oust President Barack Obama.

“Remember when you were a little kid and a wise guy at the back of the class would shout things out?” Jerry said. “That’s Trump. He makes you laugh and giggle.

“Right now, Trump is enjoyable.

“Sarah Palin is no longer the flavor of the month, so Trump is.

“I don’t think any of these people are going to beat Obama.

“Republicans have overreached. Do we really want a country without Medicare?

“Obama’s heart is in the right place.

“He can’t get everything he wants with Republicans controlling Congress fighting him,

We have a class war going on at the moment. The powerful are stacking the deck in favor of the rich, which is why the gap is getting wider between the rich and poor.”

Lisa Lopes: Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Died 9 Years Ago Today

LISA “Left Eye” Lopes died 9 years ago today, April 25.

The R&B emcee — real name Lisa Nicole Lopes — shot to fame as a member of the of the R&B threesome TLC, consisting of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas.

As the hip hop half of the Grammy winning trio, Left Eye provided infectiously memorable rap verses on such TLC hits as Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg, What About Your Friends, Hat 2 da Back, No Scrubs and Waterfalls.

On April 25, 2002, Lisa Lopes was the sole fatality of a car accident in Honduras. Driving a Mitsubishi Pajero, Lopes allegedly tried to swerve around a truck, but there was another vehicle heading towards them in the opposite direction. To avoid a head-on collision, Lopes swerved all the way off the road. The vehicle rolled several times after hitting two trees, throwing Lopes and three others out of the windows. She died of neck injuries and severe head trauma. The passenger in the front passenger seat was videotaping at the time, so the last seconds leading up to the swerve that resulted in the fatal accident were recorded on video. Lopes’ mother Wanda later sued Mitsubishi Motors, as the Pajero was prone to rollovers according to a 2001 Consumer Reports review.

Her funeral was held at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia. Engraved upon her casket were the lyrics to her portion of Waterfalls: “Dreams are hopeless aspirations, in hopes of coming true, believe in yourself, the rest is up to me and you.” Lopes was buried at Hillandale Memorial Gardens, in Lithonia, Georgia, USA.

Madea's Big Happy Family: Film Review

In this era of tough love, it's no wonder that audiences eat up Tyler Perry's Madea character. In the prolific multi-hyphenate filmmaker's latest opus featuring his signature figure, the tough old broad manages to set every dysfunctional character straight through sheer force of will and a mouth that just won't stop.

Madea's Big Happy Family, based on one of Perry's successful touring stage plays, is a return to the broad comedy that marked many of his early features. While it marks an artistic regression from his recent, more multi-dimensional efforts, particularly the dramatically ambitious For Colored Girls, there's little doubt that it will satisfy his target audience.

The story begins on a dramatic note, with matriarch Shirley (Loretta Devine) being informed of a dire cancer diagnosis. But that's immediately followed by a raucously funny scene featuring the familiar character Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis) enjoying a toke in a hospital restroom.

That's emblematic of the film's rude, vulgar humor, which relies heavily on nasty insults. The one most frequently evoked is "ghetto," used as an epithet to describe any sort of low-class behavior.

The dying Shirley wishes to inform her grown children of her condition at a group dinner, but the relentless quarrelling among the siblings and their assorted spouses and lovers keeps getting in the way.

Son Byron (Shad "Bow Wow" Moss), recently released from jail, is considering a return to drug dealing to satisfy his new girlfriend's (Lauren London) demand to be "kept" and to support the baby he had with his endlessly demanding ex (Teyana Taylor).

Daughter Tammy (Natalie Desselle Reid) endlessly harangues her henpecked husband (Rodney Perry) and is unable to discipline her two bratty sons. And upscale real-estate broker Kimberly (Shannon Kane) continually rails against her loving husband (played by Old Spice pitchman Isaiah Mustafa who, much to the probable disappoint of his female fans, keeps his shirt on throughout.)

Indeed, with the exception of the devoutly religious Shirley and, of course, Madea, nearly all of the female characters on display are depicted as ungrateful harridans who constantly abuse the men in their lives. That, combined with the filmmaker's relish for dressing in drag, would seem to indicate some personal issues that need to be worked out.

It all leads to a dramatic revelation of a long-buried family secret, with several of the characters airing their dirty laundry on, where else, The Maury Povich Show. And, as is common in Perry's films, there's a climactic church service featuring a stirring gospel number.

The film is best appreciated as a showcase for the hugely popular titular character, with Perry tearing into the role with hugely entertaining comic gusto. From driving a car through the window of a fast-food restaurant after being denied service to slapping an insolent adolescent boy silly, the oversized, take-no-prisoners grandma's actions were met with roaring approval by the audience.

Lindsay Lohan 'Ready To Accept' Jail Time

Lindsay Lohan is "angry" about her looming 120-day jail sentence, but is willing to accept her punishment and serve out her time, according to her producer pal Nathan Folks.

The Mean Girls star was charged with probation violation by a judge in Los Angeles on Friday (22Apr11) and ordered back to jail for a fourth time.

The sentence - which also includes 400 hours of community service - came as she pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanour charge relating to the alleged theft of a necklace from a California jewellery store back in January (11). The judge decided the accusation constituted a violation of her probation stemming from a 2007 Dui charge and Lohan was booked into a California jail before being freed on bail to appeal the sentence.

Movie producer Folks has now spoken out about his close friend's situation, revealing the 24 year old feels disappointed as she was looking forward to getting her acting career back on track with a number of new film roles.

He tells People.com, "She is fine. Obviously, she is upset about (being sentenced to four months in jail)... She is angry because she has been working so hard on turning her life around. She didn't do what they said she did. She didn't steal that necklace."

Folks also claims Lohan - who was released from three months of court-ordered rehab in January (11) - is prepared to go to jail and attend drink and drugs therapy to cement her recovery.

He adds, "She is ready to do her time. She wants to go to A.A. (Alcoholics Anonymous) and N.A. (Narcotics Anonymous) and to serve her 400 hours (of community service). She has already been doing lots of charity work."

Why William won’t kiss the bride

LONDON--Even being the future king of England and the co-star of one of the most viewed weddings in history will not spare Prince William the frustration of being denied one typical marriage custom.

Sorry, William, you may not kiss the bride.

As he watches Kate Middleton walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey on April 29, William will have the traditional groom's checklist stashed in his memory. He will surely mentally admire Kate's dress, nervously go over his vows one final time in his head, and prepare to listen to the solemn words of the archbishop of Canterbury in his final seconds as a bachelor.

[ Related: How Prince William is breaking a royal tradition ]

But once the ceremony is complete and the rings have been exchanged, there will be no royal smooch at the abbey altar for the benefit of the 1,900 guests in attendance. Church of England protocol expressly forbids such behavior, especially in a hallowed site such as Westminster Abbey, one of the world's most famous churches.

"There will be no kiss during the wedding ceremony," explained the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall, the dean of Westminster and the man responsible for overseeing the spiritual life of Westminster Abbey. "We don't do that in the Church of England. That's sort of a Hollywood thing: ' You may now kiss the bride.' It doesn't happen here."

[ Video: Kate's changes to the wedding vows ]

For the royal family, too, kissing, it seems, is serious business and must be undertaken only in appropriate situations. When William's mother, Princess Diana, wed Prince Charles in 1981, the pair also did not kiss in church. Instead they produced an iconic moment on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. As thousands of well-wishers screamed for the newlyweds to pucker up, Diana said to Charles: "Well, what about it?"

Photographs of the resulting kiss were splashed across the front page of every British newspaper and seen around the world. That balcony moment is due to be repeated by William and Kate, although this time it will be scripted and part of the carefully planned event.

Follow Shine on Facebook for the latest royal wedding updates and enter to win a vacation for two.

There is even an allocated time for the kiss, 1:25 p.m. London time. Several publications reported this week that William and Kate have gone so far as to practice the act to ensure the camera angles are right for the international press.

Perhaps it is just as well there is to be no kiss in the abbey to distract William and Kate from the procedure of their big occasion. With eight days to go, the archbishop--the principal leader of the Church of England--added some welcome words of wisdom as they prepare for a day where every move will be scrutinized in minute detail.

"William and Catherine are making this commitment very much in the public eye, and they are sensible, realistic young people," said Archbishop Rowan Williams. "They know what the cost of that might be. They have thought that through. And because of that they will need the support, the solidarity, and the prayers of all those who are watching.

"I wish them every richest blessing in their life together and the courage and clarity they will need to live out this big commitment in the full glare--to live it out for the rest of us."

After Much Drama, Hear Weird Al's Parody of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way."

Long story short: Weird Al Yankovic wrote a parody of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” for his upcoming album.

He sent it to the Gaga people. They politely declined letting him put it on his CD.

Then he released this online. Lady Gaga then says, ‘Heck yeah, do it!’ (she’s no dummy… you haven’t truly arrived until you’ve been parodied by Weird Al.)

Turns out, apparently the Gaga person who said she wasn’t interested never played it for her in the first place.

That was truly the short version. Here’s the parody, “I Perform This Way.” It’s gotten more then 800 thousand hits in just a day.

Rupert Grint Bong Photo

The internet is buzzing about a photo that has been flying around – the pic appears to show Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, (who plays Ron Weasley) smoking from a bong, allegedly at a Harry Potter cast party.

A whole lot of bad ideas here. If it is Grint, then dumb idea. Especially at a public event.

Then there’s the idiot who took the picture. Then there’s the jerk that posted it online. A whole lot of stupid going around here!

All-in-all, I have to say that if indeed it is him, (it sure looks like him,) I doubt it will haunt him. The Harry Potter series wraps this summer, and any pressure to be a role model to kids is officially off. Grint may even be looking to tarnish his image a bit, for all we know. What remains to be seen is if the actor will have a steady career without post-Potter franchise - with or without respect to the photo.

The Paul Reiser Show Ratings Get WORSE

After a disappointing premiere last week, The Paul Reiser Show’s second episode has dipped even further in the ratings.

Dropping from a 1.1 rating in the coveted 18-49 year old demo in it’s premiere to a 0.9 rating for the second episode is never a good thing. (For those who don’t follow the ratings system, the translation is this: not a lot of people were watching this show.) Essentially, ”The Paul Reiser Show” is now on life support, just waiting for the network to pull the plug.

And yet – while hindsight is always 20/20, it appears as though NBC knew this was a ‘miss’ all along, having shown little indication that they had faith in the show to begin with. It was initially announced as a possible fall series last spring, then got shelved as a possible mid-season replacement, then that didn’t happen. Cut to it’s sudden appearance on the schedule for only four episodes.

TVWood’s Sean Daly found that after the program’s dismal premiere numbers, Reiser quickly went into defensive mode:

“Listen this was he shortest ramp up in the history of television … They literally 20 days ago said “Ok, we’re puttin’ you up.’ And I said ‘Ok, great.’ To me this is a show that is about the long range…

“This is a show that somebody said “It looks like it has been running for a while.” So this is a show that is hopefully going to be on for a while. The audience will get a chance to hear about it. When you have 20 days, it is hard to get the word out.”

Despite Reiser’s hopes, this doesn’t look like it’s going to be on for a while.

There may be some validity to the lack of advance time and promotion for the show, but it also may be that the format has simply been done. Reiser plays a version of himself getting into the typical ’crazy situations’ that successful Hollywood comics tend to get into. Immediately critics smelled the faint aroma of a better comedy show on HBO… The New York Times saying it “immediately wreaks of a very similar, already mastered concept… a pale imitation of Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,”

It didn’t help then that Larry David himself appeared on the premiere to joke about the idea of making a show like his, making the viewer comparison that much more inevitable.

Critic Maureen Ryan said “the domestic comedy feels like it was resurrected from a mid-’90s sitcom. It’s predictable, bland and feels like something you’ve seen before. But mixed in to the pilot are some diner scenes with Larry David that feel like outtakes from an average ‘Curb’ episode. The two men bicker and fight and those ‘Curb’-flavored scenes are just jarring in this context, because they don’t really fit with anything else.”

And now, a likely frustrated Reiser sits and waits for an inevitable call. And the Peacock is reminded that they should have gone with their gut feeling. In the story that is this series, no one wins… Not Reiser, The NBC, and not the viewer.

'American Idol' results show: Who was sent home?

On Wednesday's episode of "American Idol," the contestants brought some new music to the live singing competition for a change, singing songs that were written in the 21st century.

After the contestants sang their hearts out during 21st Century Night, three contestants received the lowest votes on Thursday during the eighth results show of the 10th season and one was eliminated. Check out the recap below to find out who was sent packing and tell us who you think should win the competition. Warning: Spoiler alert!

On Thursday night, Katy Perry sang her new hit "E.T." and David Cook, who won season seven of "American Idol" also stopped by his alma mater to sing "The Last Goodbye" from his upcoming album, "This Loud Morning."

First up, Jacob Lusk, Stefano Langone, Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart teamed up to sing "Hey Soul Sister."

After that, Casey Abrams, Scotty McCreery and James Durbin sang "Viva la Vida" and Durbin responds to his fellow contestants calling him a diva.

First up on the elimination deck were Jacob Lusk and Casey Abrams. It is announced that Lusk is in the bottom three.

After Cook's performance, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin and Stefano Langone are put on the elimination deck and it's announced that Langone is in the bottom three. Next up, Haley Reinhart and Scotty McCreery are put to the test and Reinhart is put in the bottom three.

Katy Perry then takes the stage to perform "E.T." and (surprise) Kanye West joins her on stage.

Ryan Seacrest announces that Reinhart and Jacob Lusk are safe, while Stefano Langone has been sent packing.

The 6 finalists that remain are Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Scott McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Jacob Lusk.

Take A Lookie At Snooki!

Snooki has apparently upchucked the heavy boozing in favor of a healthier lifestyle! (Show business will do that to you!)

She recently tweeted a photo of herself looking slimmer and more toned.

“Water is my new best friend,” she wrote . “… As everyone’s planning their night at the club, I’m wondering when Gold’s Gym closes.”

Being less of a lush may be easier for Snooki, aka Nicole Polizzi, when Jersey Shore shoots in Italy. Officials there have made it clear that they will not allow the cast to be publicy inebriated or portray their towns as locales that encourage or condone the excessive behaviors so common on the show.

Hot in Hot Pink

Halle Berry proved that she's ready for spring by attending this year's Silver Rose soiree in a hot pink Roberto Cavalli creation. The bright color perfectly complemented her skin tone, as did her sparkly Christian Louboutin sandals and Stephen Webster bracelets.

Is Lindsay back?

Is this the beginning of the comeback? The hard-partying actress will play Kim, the wife of John Gotti Jr. in "Gotti: Three Generations." This isn't the only mafia picture LiLo has in the works. According to The Advocate, she's also set to play the lead in "Mob Street."

Why Kate Middleton won’t toss her bouquet

LONDON--The ceremonial fight for the bride's bouquet is a symbolic, entertaining, and occasionally violent staple of most weddings, but there won't be a throng of eager young ladies queuing up to catch Kate Middleton's lavish flower arrangement on April 29.

British royal protocol dictates that instead of being hurled skyward and giving one lucky and sure-handed girl a superstitious shove toward marriage, Kate's bouquet will come to a far more solemn rest.

As she heads back down the aisle at Westminster Abbey, having completed her nuptials to become either Her Royal Highness Princess William of Wales or another title of the queen's choosing, she will take a moment to lay her floral creation at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, a historic grave embedded into the church floor in 1920 to commemorate anonymous soldiers killed at war.

[ Related: How Prince William is breaking royal tradition ]

"It is one of the ways I remember the boys who didn't come home," Michael Selby, a private during World War II who honors the tomb whenever he visits the Abbey, told Yahoo!. "It is a symbol for the men whose bodies lay in a foreign field, a lot of them never identified."

The tomb, carrying the body of an unidentified soldier brought home from the first World War, is a revered site in British military history. It became etched into royal tradition in 1923 thanks to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who would later be known as the queen mother.

Bowes-Lyon, much loved and expertly portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter in the Oscar-winning movie "The King's Speech," set the tradition when she wed her "Bertie," King George VI, by laying a wreath on the tomb in honor of her brother Fergus, who had died during the war. On that occasion the arrangement was laid on the way to the altar. It has since been followed by every royal bride, though subsequently on their way out of the church.

As preparations for William and Kate's wedding got into full flow earlier this year, Kate made it known that she wished to pay a tribute to the military. Such a gesture surely met with the approval of Prince William, who continued family tradition by serving as a search and rescue pilot in the Royal Air Force and is currently stationed at a flight base in Wales.

William's brother, Prince Harry, has also vigorously launched himself into a career of service, flying Apache helicopters and recently being promoted to the rank of captain in the British Army Air Corps.

With the queen closely involved in planning for the wedding ceremony, it was agreed that the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior would be a fitting way to stick with royal practice, while also giving a touching nod to the services.

But what of the flowers that will be laid there? There has been some mystery regarding the creation. The Daily Mail reported that floral expert Shane Connolly would be given the honor of piecing together what will perhaps be the most-viewed bouquet in history.

Whatever form it takes, it is virtually certain that it will contain the royal staple of myrtle, known as the herb of love. Queen Victoria planted a myrtle bush at one of her residences, Osborne House, in the 1840s, and every royal wedding bouquet since has contained a sprig taken from the same plant.

William and Kate are very much a modern couple, but their wedding looks like it will be notable for its deference to history, right down to the concoction, placement, and symbolism of the bouquet.
