La Toya Jackson says she was "shocked" at being eliminated from Donald Trump's reality show "The Celebrity Apprentice," as seen on an episode that aired on Sunday, April 24.The sister of late singer Michael Jackson was deemed a consistently weaker player throughout the course of the series, which shows celebrities putting together marketing campaigns to try and sell a product while winning money for charity.
La Toya Jackson was "fired" by Trump as she and her colleagues Star Jones and NeNe Leakes, whose outspoken demeanors marked a sharp contrast to her own, faced the real estate mogul in his boardroom.
"Most of you R as surprised & shocked as I was 4 getting fired," La Toya Jackson said on her Twitter page. "But keep N mind, I'm Joe Jackson's daughter, I was raised to NEVER give up!"
"I didn't feel that I should've been fired but I was there for charity and I raised $65,000 for Aids Project Los Angeles," she added. "That money was able to feed those in need & give them their medicine for 30 days at all 9 of their LA location, THAT MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT."
La Toya Jackson's all-female team, which also consists of Playboy model Hope Dworaczyk and actress Marlee Matlin, had failed to impress with a marketing plan they had come up with for Trump Hotels. La Toya Jackson had sparred with Leakes earlier in the season and accused Jones of dominating their team's projects. Trump questioned the women's unity.
"I don't think the team wants La Toya going forward," he said. "I think it's going to be very tough for you to win."
Trump had said prior to the start of the current fourth season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" that La Toya Jackson was "very smart, really smart and she does really well and I think she's gonna surprise a lot of people."
Trump also confirmed that this season will be a "total trainwreck." In a conference call, the mogul said that some of this season's fights that are like nothing that have been on television.
"There are some scenes on the Celebrity Apprentice coming up that I have never seen scenes like them in all of the years I've watched television," Trump told media outlets in his telephone conference call. "Not just 'The Apprentice' but I'm talking about television that I jokingly said Omarosa's looking like a very nice, very meek person by comparison."
Omarosa Manigault, known as the "villain" of the first season of "The Apprentice," recently praised Trump during an interview with OnTheRedCarpet.com. He has been hinting he may run for president in 2012.
La Toya Jackson is the fifth child of the Jackson family and starred with her siblings in the CBS variety show, "The Jacksons." La Toya also had a solo music career, wrote an autobiography and posed in Playboy magazine. She appeared on the shortlived CBS reality show, "Armed & Famous" and on the British reality series "Celebrity Big Brother."
The other celebrity contestants who remain in the running on "The Celebrity Apprentice" are Leakes, Jones, Dworaczyk, Matlin, country singer John Rich, rapper Lil Jon and rocker Meat Loaf.
