Demi Moore says changing her Twitter username, "MrsKutcher," is not a "top priority right now," weeks after she announced her separation from husband Ashton Kutcher.
The 49-year-old actress said in a statement on November 17 that she had decided to end her six-year marriage to Kutcher, 33. The news came after several reports about his alleged infidelity, which he has not confirmed.
"Changing my twitter name isn't a top priority right now," Moore, who lives in Los Angeles, Tweeted on Wednesday, December 14, at about 1 a.m. Pacific Time. "Sorry it bothers so many of u. should I not tweet until I do? Does it really matter?"
The actress and Kutcher enjoy a large fan following on Twitter. More than 4.3 million people subscribe to Moore's Tweets, while the actor, who goes by the username "Aplusk," has more than 8.7 million followers. Their accounts are updated almost every day with personal and promotional postings, as well as photos, which have in the past often featured the two goofing around.
After Moore announced her plans to end her marriage to Kutcher, her third husband, the actor said in his own statement that he will "forever cherish the time" he spent with her, adding: "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."
As of Wednesday, Moore and Kutcher have not filed divorce papers. Spokespeople for the actors had no immediate comment about the matter.
The "Two and a Half Men" actor married Moore in September 2005 after dating her for about two years. The actress was previously married to Bruce Willis, father of her three children, and to singer Freddie Moore.
Rumors that Kutcher allegedly cheated on Moore surfaced online and in tabloid magazine reports in late September. In mid-October, a 22-year-old woman named Sara Leal told Us Weekly in a video interview that she and Kutcher had a one night stand. She said he had told her at the time that he was "separated" and added that her life "has been a mess" ever since the incident.
Kutcher and Moore have not commented about the alleged incident.
However, Kutcher did appear in a video that showed him blasting the media and the way "people can bastardize the truth." He appeared in the clip without his wedding ring.
Kutcher was also the target of a different cheating scandal in 2010. He called a tabloid report about it "fiction."
In early December, Moore was linked romantically to Scott-Vincent Borba, a skincare mogul and former model. He later denied they were dating.
Kutcher has been keeping busy promoting the movie "New Year's Eve," which was released last week and features "Glee" star Lea Michele as his love interest. The two appeared cozy at the film's Los Angeles premiere (see photos).
At a press junket, Michele invited the actor to spend the real New Year's Eve with her and her "big Italian family."
Kutcher said: "I don't know where I'm going to be on New Year's, I haven't sorted it out," Kutcher quipped. "I was going to try to crash a UFO into the Mayan temples, just to see how people would react to that, but I decided that maybe I don't want to work that hard."
