Martha Stewart became a grandmother this week when her daughter Alexis welcomed a baby girl named Jude, who was born through a gestational carrier on Tuesday, reports People.
Alexis Stewart announced the baby's birth on her radio show "Whatever with Alexis and Jennifer" on Tuesday and added that her mother will not be called a grandmother, but will go by 'Martha,'which was Alexis' decision. The radio host also posted photos of her newborn on her blog and said that the baby is named after fellow Sirius XM Radio host, Rude Jude.
Martha made the announcement on Friday's "Martha Stewart Show," adding that her daughter and the baby are doing well and Jude "has Lexie's pouty little mouth." Martha also told her 2 million Twitter followers about the new edition to the family.
"Baby jude is doing very very well- she is a beauty, sleeping, eating, socializing -alexis is a great mother and i am a grandma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Stewart wrote on her Twitter account. "Having my own kid is the most important thing in my life," Alexis said at the time. "I'm trying everything I can."
' Alexis was married to lawyer John R. Cuti in 1997 but the couple divorced in 2004, after Cuti served as a trial lawyer in Martha Stewart's stock trading case.
Alexis said that her famous mother arrived shortly after Jude, with baby gifts from Bergdorf Goodman department store.
