Penelope Cruz to get star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Penelope Cruz is set to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, April 1. The 36-year-old Spanish actress won an Oscar for her performance in the 2008 movie "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" and was nominated for two Academy Awards for her roles in"Volver" and "Nine." She is also known for movies such as "Vanilla Sky" and "Sahara." Cruz recently filmed the fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" film, "On Stranger Tides," which is set for release on May 20. She plays Anjelica, love interest of Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow. The two also starred together in the movie "Blow" in 2001. In January, Cruz welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with husband and fellow Spanish native and Oscar-winner Javier Bardem. Cruz, 36, and Bardem, 42, married in the Bahamas in early July after dating since at least 2007. The two met while filming the Spanish movie "Jamon, Jamon" in 1992. Cruz's star marks the 2,436th on the Walk of Fame. Celebrities who have received the same honor this year include singer Bryan Adams, Alec Baldwin and Adam Sandler
