Ricki Lake has gotten engaged to boyfriend Christian Evans, who will become her second husband.
The 42-year-old actress, also known for hosting the talk show "Ricki Lake," met her fiance through her best friend and the two have been dating since the summer of 2010. They have not announced a wedding date.
"Thrilled to share some happy news with you..... I'm engaged!" Lake Tweeted on Thursday, August 11, alongside a photo of her and Evans embracing. "The cat is out of the bag. Phew! I'm terrible at keeping secrets."
Lake and her first husband, Rob Sussman, divorced in 2005 after about 10 years of marriage. They have two sons - Milo, 14 and Owen, 10.
She told People magazine in May that she and Evans were living together and that her boys "love" him. She also said she was open to the idea of marrying again.
In September 2010, Lake made headlines when a fire destroyed her rented beachfront Malibu home. She and her sons, as well as their dog, escaped unharmed.
Lake hosted her own talk show, "Ricki Lake," between 1998 and 2004 and VH1's reality show "Charm School" in 2009. She also appeared in movies such as "Hairspray" in 1988, the Johnny Depp musical film "Cry-Baby" in 1990 and the dark comedy "Serial Mom" in 1994.
Lake is set to return to television full time in the fall of 2012 with a new daytime talk show. While her former program showcased guests dealing with love, sex, cheating and other issues, Lake's new series is based on her personal experiences.
