ANNE'S A BIG FAN
Putting her best professionally dressed foot forward, Katie Holmes parks her Mercedes at Smashbox Studios in West Hollywood on November 28, heading into a meeting with a very somber look on her face despite her playful purple sweater. Katie stepped out layering her sheer cropped top (try Ella Moss' Nikita Sparkle Sweater in Black for a festive holiday sparkle) over a slim tank (add some color with Splendid's Layers Spaghetti Strap in Flamingo) and cropped leggings (like Splendid's Lycra ¾ Legging in Black). Katie gave the look a professional feel with chic black pumps (try Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Black Crocco), bringing out her coveted Valextra flat bag (carry your essentials in Foley + Corinna's Mid City Tote in Taupe) which has been one of her favorite totes since last summer. I'm kind of on the fence about this look – I like that it's a little different and that it's a passable way to turn a casual leggings look into something semi-professional, but I'm just not sure the proportions and colors all jive together. What do you think? Katie has been busy with various filming projects lately, filming Jack and Jill with Adam Sandler in Florida last month and wrapping production on her historical mini-series The Kennedys that is set to air this spring. One role she definitely won't be taking on is comedy, after Anne Hathaway recently spoofed her on Saturday Night Live. In the skit dubbed "The Miley Cyrus Show," Anne poked a little fun at Katie, obliviously "dodging" questions about Scientology and her high heel wearing toddler, but in a follow-up interview Anne insisted she didn't mean any harm with her jokes: "I was a teenager when 'Dawson's Creek' was airing, and I was a pretty avid fan, so it just sort of came from that. It wasn't really Katie Holmes; it was more [her 'Dawson's Creek' character] Joey Potter." Watch the clip and see what you think – is Anne's impersonation spot on?
