T.I. thanks fans in letter from prison

T.I. may be currently incarcerated, but that hasn't stopped the rapper from penning a letter to his fans. With the release of his seventh studio album, “No Mercy,” the Atlanta rapper and actor - who is currently serving an 11-month sentence for a probation violation stemming from a federal weapons conviction - was able to address his latest effort and his plethora of supporters on his website, TrapMuzik.com. Calling “No Mercy” his “most honest and intimate installment,” the self-proclaimed King of the South thanked his fan base for “your prayers, your time and attention,” he wrote on his site. “And remember....It doesn’t matter how long it’ll be before the next time you see me,” T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, went on. “What matters is that I’ll be a better man before that time comes. The longer I sit, the smarter I get…It’s a relief to know that there still are people who see a man with a life and not just another headline in the news.” “No Mercy” is T.I.’s follow-up to the critical and commercial success, “Paper Trail.” On Tuesday, a viral video for "No Mercy's" title track hit the Internet and the Motion Family-directed video for his mixtape hit, “Pledge Allegiance,” debuted on BET’s "106 & Park." In his letter, T.I. says that he has been in a constant conversation with God about his current situation. “Let me assure you all that I am definitely keeping my head up. I don't consider myself done by far. Also many of you are convinced as I am that God has a plan for me that he's preparing me for. How do you tell God Almighty that all you wanna do is LIVE LIFE???,” he asks. “What if all you wanna do is be a father to your kids, a husband to your wife, and son to your mother while providing insightful motivation through music?” It's a conversation that T.I. says fans may eventually get to hear for themselves. "Maybe you can look forward to hearing the dialogue between us set to music on the next album...which I'll be announcing the official title to sooner than later," he said. "But until then, thanks again for all your understanding, love and support.”
