Ellen DeGeneres reportedly 'fine' after chest pain emergency

Ellen DeGeneres is reportedly "fine" after experiencing chest pains on Monday, September 26, at the studio in Burbank, California, where her talk show is taped.

The daytime talk show host started feeling chest pains, which prompted paramedics to respond to Warner Bros. studio, according to the Associated Press. However, DeGeneres released a statement that assured she was feeling "fine."

DeGeneres said she started having chest pains Sunday night and woke up feeling tightness and heaviness in her chest. She compared the feeling to having two cats on her chest.

She said the pains continued when she came to work on Monday, so she called 911 "to be safe." She joked the paramedics may have overreacted, saying multiple trucks and ambulances showed up on the Warner Brothers lot and appeared "like one marching band short of a parade."

The comedian and her wife, actress Portia De Rossi, recently teamed up on a comedy television project that could mark Rossi's return to the small screen in the fall.

NBC snapped up the project and made a "put pilot commitment," meaning that the project has costly penalties to the network if it is not picked up as a series, reports Deadline.com.

The show is about dueling sisters, one of which would be played by De Rossi, and was written by "Samantha Who?" co-creator Don Todd. DeGeneres will be an executive producer of the series through her television production company called A Very Good Production, based at Warner Bros. Television, which also produces her talk show.

The show is still untitled but had interest from several major networks before being nabbed by NBC.

Last time De Rossi was seen on television was on "Better Off Ted," which lasted two seasons and went off the air in 2010. The actress is also known for roles on "Ally McBeal" and "Arrested Development."

De Rossi and DeGeneres were married back in August of 2008, at a time when same sex marriage licenses were granted in California.
