Actor Tom Sizemore was arrested early Tuesday morning in Los Angeles over an oustanding outstanding warrant for misdemeanor battery, OnTheRedCarpet.com has confirmed.
The 49-year-old "Saving Private Ryan" actor was taken into custody at around 1:15 a.m. local time at a Los Angeles apartment. He was released later in the morning after posting $26,000 bail. The actor has not commented.
Los Angeles police told OnTheRedCarpet.com that officers were at the apartment complex to do a follow-up investigation on a parolee when they came across Sizemore and found out the actor had an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor battery, issued over a 2009 case involving his then-girlfriend.
Court records show that in 2010, the actor pleaded no contest to the charge and was sentenced to three years probation, one day in jail - which was counted as served, fines, and 80 hours of community service at a youth center. As part of his plea deal, two addtional battery charges and a count of corporal injury on a spouse, former spouse or cohabitant were dismised.
A bench warrant for Sizemore's arrest was issued after the actor and his lawyer failed to appear at an August hearing about his community service.
Sizemore has appeared in movies, such as "Pearl Harbor," "Black Hawk Down," and "Strange Days."
