Bruce Willis, 56, and wife Emma expecting baby

Bruce Willis and wife Emma Heming-Willis, are expecting their first child together.

The 56-year-old actor, known for his role in action films such as the "Die Hard" franchise, married Heming-Willis, a 35-year-old model and designer, in 2009.

Their baby is due in early 2012, Willis' spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com on Wednesday, October 26, adding: "The couple, who've been married for nearly three years, are overjoyed with this news and they look forward to welcoming this newest addition into their family."

Willis and his first wife, actress Demi Moore, have three children - Scout, 20; Tallulah, 17 and Rumer, a 23-year-old model and actress who has appeared on shows such as the CW series "90210" as well as in the 2008 Anna Faris comedy "The House Bunny."

Willis was married to Moore, 49, for almost 13 years before they divorced in 2000. She wed her third husband, Ashton Kutcher, 33, in 2005.

Heming-Willis has often posted photos of herself with Willis online and has Tweeted about her stepdaughters. In June, she praised Willis in a Father's Day message on Facebook, calling him "one of the greatest Dads I know!"

Willis is set to reprise his role as hero John McClane in a fifth "Die Hard" film, which is called "A Good Day To Die Hard." .

Willis is also known for films such as "The Sixth Sense," "Red" and "Cop Out." He is currently filming sequels to two more hit action movie franchises - "The Expendables 2" and "G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation."
