Pink joins Gwyneth Paltrow sex addict film, 'Thanks For Sharing'

Pop singer Pink will be playing a sex addict in her upcoming film "Thanks for Sharing."

The pop singer will star alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins and Joely Richardson in the film which is about a group of sex addicts who bond over their determination to recover from their addiction, according to Entertainment Weekly. The film is described as a dramatic comedy.

The movie marks the directorial debut of "The Kids Are All Right" co-writer Stuart Blumberg. He co-wrote the script for "Thanks for Sharing."

"[Pink] could not be a more ideal fit for this role," Blumberg said in a press release. "She carries with her just the right combination of heart and edginess for the part of Dede, and we're incredibly excited to share her acting talent with audiences."

Pink will play a free-spirited sex addict who bonds with a fellow addict played by Josh Gad of "Love and Other Drugs." Meanwhile, Paltrow stars a successful businesswoman who falls for Ruffalo's character. Filming began in September.

"I couldn't imagine actors more perfect than Gwyneth, Mark, Tim and Joely for this film, and I can't wait to see them bring these characters to life with their unique and formidable talents," Blumberg said in a statement in September.

Pink and her husband Carey Hart welcomed their first child, a baby daughter, on June 2.

"We are ecstatic to welcome our new beautiful healthy happy baby girl, Willow Sage Hart," said Pink's Twitter page. "She's gorgeous, just like her daddy."

Pink and Hart, a motocross racer, married in Costa Rica in 2006 and announced in 2008 they had split, but never separated legally. The singer later confirmed in May 2010 that she and Hart were back together.

The pop singer has previously had cameos on films like "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Catacombs," "Rollerball" and "Moulin Rouge." This will be her first substantial role.
