Call it a philanthropic promotion, where a "like" equals a meal.
Rapper 50 Cent, a.k.a Curtis Jackson, has promised to provide a meal to a child in need every time his new Street King energy shots receive a "like" on Facebook through Sunday.
He's teaming up with the United Nations World Food Programme, and if he gets a million likes by Sunday, he'll donate an additional one million meals.
He adds in a statement, “People who want to help fight hunger are not being asked to donate or pay anything to help. It’s real simple. All they have to do is 'like' the Street King page on Facebook and I will give a meal to a hungry kid.”
But the rapper's philanthropy doesn't end this week: The UN World Food Programme confirms that 50 Cent will provide a meal for every Street King energy shot sold in the next five years. The goal? One billion meals.
