Leonardo DiCaprio and Blake Lively, who stars on the CW show "Gossip Girl," have broken up after about five months of dating.The two have not commented publicly. Us Weekly magazine quoted their representatives as saying the actors "remain friends." A source close to the matter confirmed the split to OnTheRedCarpet.com on Tuesday, October 4.
DiCaprio, 36, and Lively, 24, were first photographed together in May on a yacht during the 2011 Cannes Film Festival in France, days after it was reported the actor and on-and-off girlfriend, Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli, had broken up.
Lively has been previously linked to actor Kelly Blatz and "Gossip Girl" co-star Penn Badgley. The two broke up in September 2010 after dating for about three years.
Lively plays socialite Serena van der Woodsen on "Gossip Girl," which began its fifth season on September 26.
DiCaprio is currently busy filming his latest movie, The Great Gatsby." The movie is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel of the same name.DiCaprio plays Jay Gatsby, while Carey Mulligan portrays Daisy Buchanan, Isla Fisher plays Myrtle Wilson and Tobey Maguire plays Nick Carraway, the narrator.
DiCaprio, deemed Hollywood's highest-earning actor by Forbes, recently filmed the movie "J. Edgar," which was directed by Clint Eastwood and is due to hit theaters on November 9.
