by Kristina LopezBrandy Norwood wants the world to know she's not pregnant. The singer and former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant took to her official Twitter page to deny a report by the gossip site MediaTakeout.com that she is expecting.
"Media takeout is a hilarious! Now I'm expecting a child? WOW!!! Please check out the story for your morning comedy..lol," she wrote in one Tweet.
Norwood seemed to take the rumors in stride, saying in another Tweet, "Now y'all know dang well I'm not pregnant.. Lmao!! But I might continue to crack jokes about it...so be alert:)"
Back in October, the R&B star told Life & Style that she hasn't been intimate with anyone in six years.
"I haven't been with a man seriously and in love in six years," she told the magazine. "And, honestly, I tend to abstain if I'm not in a relationship." While she admitted she hasn't been totally celibate, she added, "It's been a long time. We're talking years."
The 31-year-old has an 8-year-old daughter with ex Robert Smith.
The singer recently competed on season 11 of "Dancing With the Stars" with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and finished in fourth place behind Bristol Palin.
"I'm definitely a different person," Brandy told OnTheRedCarpet.com back in November. "I'm a stronger person from this competition alone. I'm just so blessed to have a partner in this like Maks that sees potential in me and keeps pushing me to be the best I can be."
The second season of her VH1 reality show with her family called "Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business" began airing on Dec. 5, 2010. Up next, she told OnTheRedCarpet.com, she's working on new music for a sixth studio release due out next year.
