Kiefer Sutherland fans will have to wait a little longer before they see Jack Bauer in theaters. Movie studio executives have rejected the latest script to be turned in for a 24 movie adaptation.
The last script was submitted by Billy Ray, writer of State of Play.
24 ended on the smalls screen in 2010 after eight season, but it was then announced that there is a 24 film in the works. Unfortunately, 20th Century Fox continues to be unsatisfied with the script ideas being submitted.
Howard Gordon, the executive producer of 24, assures that the film is still in the works as discussions about the storyline are ongoing.
Gordon told Entertainment Weekly, “I understand Tony Scott (director/producer) is meeting with Kiefer to talk about ideas. People are still talking about it.”
Sutherland recently filmed a series of 10 five-to-seven-minute webisodes called "The Confession," which sees his character, a hitman, having a theological discussion with a priest about why his victims deserved to die, it said. The show will be posted on Hulu in March.
