"Both parents and baby are doing great."A spokesperson for Penelope Cruz confirms to OnTheRedCarpet.com that the actress and her husband, Javier Bardem, have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The new parents have not released the name of the child and no other details were provided about his birth. The news was first reported by Spanish newspaper El Pais.
On Tuesday, Bardem received an Oscar nomination for his role in "Biutiful."
Cruz, 36, and Bardem, 41, married in the Bahamas in early July after dating since at least 2007. The two Oscar-winning actors first met while filming the Spanish movie "Jamon, Jamon" in 1992.
Cruz will appear in "Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides," which will be released on May 20, 2011 and in 3D. In the movie, which finished filming in November, Cruz plays the love interest of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow and the daughter of the pirate Blackbeard, who is portrayed by Ian McShane of Deadwood fame.
