THE NEW FACE

Making her way to a business meeting, Katie Holmes was spotted walking to an office building in Los Angeles on January 18. Katie looked a little glum as she made her way about the day – maybe she's stressing over her frizzy tresses? Mrs. Tom Cruise put a playful spin on professional dress for her meeting, wearing a pair of cuffed dot printed trousers and a chic button down blouse with rolled sleeves (put a spin on the look with Joes Jeans' sophisticated Drop Pocket Bag Pant in Black with Joie's Rio Top in Navy). Katie paired her look with black pumps (try Loeffler Randall's Wood Heel Pump in Black), a patent handbag (love Rocco e Dante Handbags' Olivia Bag in Blue) and a gold charm necklace (check out Ariel Gordon's Large Circle Pendant Necklace in Gold). What do you think of Katie's look? I definitely think she needs some help with her hair, anything to turn that frown upside down! While Katie's career hit a bit of a roadblock this week with the announcement that The History Channel will not be airing the mini-series The Kennedys which starred Katie as the famous Jackie O, she does have an exciting new prospect on the horizon as the new face of Ann Taylor. Last week the classic retailer announced Katie will succeed Heidi Klum as a spokesmodel for the brand and will appear in the spring ad campaign beginning in March. Christine Beauchamp, President of Ann Taylor Stores Corp, chatted with WWD about their decision: "Katie personifies the Ann Taylor brand — smart, talented, incredibly chic and living a full life with beauty and grace. We admire and respect Katie for her intellect, kindness and enduring personal style." Katie continued: "I applaud women who are doing their best to be the best versions of themselves and who are working really hard. And I’m glad that there is a store like Ann Taylor that can offer amazing styles for the many different roles that women play." Sounds like this career move is going to work out far better than her TV series!
