'American Idol' results show: Who was sent home?

On Wednesday's episode of "American Idol," the contestants brought some new music to the live singing competition for a change, singing songs that were written in the 21st century.

After the contestants sang their hearts out during 21st Century Night, three contestants received the lowest votes on Thursday during the eighth results show of the 10th season and one was eliminated. Check out the recap below to find out who was sent packing and tell us who you think should win the competition. Warning: Spoiler alert!

On Thursday night, Katy Perry sang her new hit "E.T." and David Cook, who won season seven of "American Idol" also stopped by his alma mater to sing "The Last Goodbye" from his upcoming album, "This Loud Morning."

First up, Jacob Lusk, Stefano Langone, Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart teamed up to sing "Hey Soul Sister."

After that, Casey Abrams, Scotty McCreery and James Durbin sang "Viva la Vida" and Durbin responds to his fellow contestants calling him a diva.

First up on the elimination deck were Jacob Lusk and Casey Abrams. It is announced that Lusk is in the bottom three.

After Cook's performance, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin and Stefano Langone are put on the elimination deck and it's announced that Langone is in the bottom three. Next up, Haley Reinhart and Scotty McCreery are put to the test and Reinhart is put in the bottom three.

Katy Perry then takes the stage to perform "E.T." and (surprise) Kanye West joins her on stage.

Ryan Seacrest announces that Reinhart and Jacob Lusk are safe, while Stefano Langone has been sent packing.

The 6 finalists that remain are Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Scott McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Jacob Lusk.
