Nicki Minaj has wardrobe malfunction, talks 'Ice Age 4' on 'GMA'

Nicki Minaj had a wardrobe malfunction during a performance in New York's Central Park, which aired on ABC show "Good Morning America" on Friday, August 5.

A spokesperson for the network apologized for the incident, adding that the live concert was broadcast on a 5-second delay.

Minaj , a 28-year-old hip hop star who is known for her flashy clothes, donned a bright outfit that included a pink jacket and a teal sports bra that showed off her cleavage. At one point during the concert, her top slipped as she danced and part of her chest was exposed for a moment. The footage was omitted from the live show as it aired on the West Coast three hours later.

"Although we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on 'GMA,' the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones," an ABC spokesperson told E! News. "We are sorry that this occurred."

The term "wardrobe malfunction" was made popular after singer Justin Timberlake ripped off Janet Jackson's top during a live televised performance at the 2004 Super Bowl. Since then, major networks have aired live events on a minor delay.

Minaj has not addressed her wardrobe malfunction. She received much praise from fans on Twitter following her stage appearance, during which she performed the tracks "Moment 4 Life" and "Super Bass."

"My crush on @nickiminaj increased today ... no particular reason ... just did," user armytankcody Tweeted, to which Minaj replied: "Ha!"

Minaj talked about her outfit and professional plans in an interview on "Good Morning America."

"I wore a rain skirt and rain boots because I knew I was going to get wet," she told "Good Morning America" backstage. Pink is a lifestyle. It makes me feel exhilarated. It makes me feel euphoric and free. It makes me feel unstoppable."

Minaj, one of today's most popular mainstream artists whose 2010 debut album "Pink Lady" has sold more than 1 million copies, also said she wants to make "a big screen debut."

She recently confirmed that she will voice a character in the animated film "Ice Age 4." The movie is set for release in 2012 and also features main star Ray Romano as well as Queen Latifah, Jennifer Lopez and rapper and former "Degrassi" actor Drake.

"I already started recording for 'Ice Age 4,'" Minaj said on "Good Morning America." That's been one of my dreams, to do animation."

Ratings for "Good Morning America" have increased since it launched its 2011 Summer Concert series several weeks ago. Artists who have performed live concerts for the show include Lady Gaga - who zip-lined onto the stage, Beyonce - who revealed she will be in a Clint Eastwood movie, and Selena Gomez.

Next week, on Friday, August 12, the top 11 finalists of the recent 10th season of "American Idol" will perform on "Good Morning America." Taio Cruz and Mary J. Blige are set to headline future concerts this summer as well.

Minaj is currently touring United States and Canada with pop star Britney Spears until mid-August. She says she plans to work on her second album after her last concert with the pop star.

"I couldn't believe I had an opportunity to go out with a queen like Britney," Minaj said on "Good Morning America." "She has paved the way for so many people."
