The 24-year-old actress - who plays ditzy cheerleader Quinn Fabray in 'Glee' and high school student Sarah Hart in new movie 'I Am Number Four' - admitted while she feels like an "old lady", she is happy to portray people much younger than herself.
She explained: "Nobody has stamped me as any older than 16! Which I am fine with as the old lady that I am. I think it's fun as long as you are playing a really fulfilling character.
"It doesn't really matter what age they are or what they are like, I think the trick is that they have to be well written and have something to them. It hasn't really been an issue, although my mum jokes about it. She says, 'You are a ninth year senior'." Despite their age difference, Dianna believes she is similar to her 'I Am Number Four' alter-ego in many ways.
She added to Movies.IE: "I think in certain ways Sarah is close to the real me. I think one of the things I liked about her was that she had something of an old soul quality to her and understanding people is always something that I have always been keen on."
